Quinta das Cruzes

Quinta das Cruzes is located near the Convento de Santa Clara, and is thought to have been the dwelling of João Gonçalves Zarco, one of the island’s discoverers.

The garden contains a wide variety of flowers that bloom all year. There is also a museum, a chapel, a small archaeological park and a nice tea house.

The pathways are wide and paved with tiny basaltic pebbles.
