Quinta Jardins do Imperador

Quinta Jardins do Imperador

Area: 45,000 square metres

In 2002, through an open bid, the government awarded a 25-year concession for managing the quinta to the firm Madeiquintas. It is opened to the public since 2004.

Quinta Jardins do Imperador boasts pittosporums, laurel trees, acacia and chestnut trees. The lawns in front of the manor house are crossed by an artificial stream that cascades down into the lake and the Malakoff garden with its small blooming flower beds encircled by box. Also noteworthy are a small pond with a fountain and a tower integrated in the belvedere, a great lookout point over a superb landscape.
