Botanical Gardens

Area: 66,000 square metres

The Botanical Gardens are a research centre and a pleasant, relaxing place where many examples of endemic and exotic flora can be viewed. Located on a hillside overlooking Funchal, its belvederes afford an excellent view of Funchal harbour and bay.

Also of interest are the Natural History museum and Louro Parque, a bird park with exotic birds from tropical regions.
