Parque de Santa Catarina

Area: 35,200 square metres

Very close to Funchal city centre, Parque de Santa Catarina offers fascinating views over the ocean, the harbour and the bay of Funchal as far as the Garajau headland. The central lawn area, trees, shrubs and flower beds with ornamental plants are its main interests.

There is a pond with a fountain where visitors can watch ducks and swans swim lazily.

A chapel and the statues of Henry the Navigator and Christopher Columbus are also worth visiting. The park has some facilities, namely a children’s enclosed play area with a toy library and a café with outdoor seating.
